My 14-15 year olds were a great group and I loved my co-counselors! We all got along great and although it took my group a little bit to connect, they were definitely a close group by the end! I loved all of my kids and of course...we made it to the cheer off! Three weeks running! I was so excited! And of course, my kids tried to hook me up with my co-counselor which was fun for the week. haha! But they were all very entertaining. One of the highlights of my week was my Canadian kid who ran up to me and asked "Who gets to hold the fleg?" I could not believe what I just heard! Sweet Canadian accent! I'm pretty sure I had a Canadian every week and I loved them all!
My 16-18 years olds were a small group but we were so close! I only had 6 girls and 8 boys and they definitely loved each other. In fact, they are still all chatting on facebook with each other and on my wall. It's so fun I love it! We were kind of disappointed in our name..."Being Alone" because we were never alone. And although this was the only week I didn't make it to the cheeroff, this was the week that my group really bonded and there were definitely tears at the end of the week. I had another great co-counselor who I have already seen on campus at BYU which is always fun. I had two more Canadian kids who find entertainment in shaking lampposts...hmmm...and it was great being able to talk with my girls about dating and helping them understand the importance of choosing the right guys to date and how important it is to follow the spirit. Not that I'm an expert in dating because I am definitely not..but it was fun all the same. My girls were amazing!

Overall my EFY experience was one of the best things I could have ever done. I really needed to be reminded about who I am and to get whipped back into shape. It was also a great opportunity for me to be able to connect to the youth and even made me rethink my decision of being an elementary education major and not a secondary education major. But I love the youth of the church and I hope to continue to work with them throughout my life.
