EFY again! Till We All Come aka T-WAC!

Week two of EFY was amazing once again! My group just clicked and I had kids, I mean participants, who were just so strong! The testimony meeting was something I will never forget. The spirit was so strong! There were more tears than I have ever seen in my life! I felt like a proud parent watching each of these youth I've been with all week bare testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. Their words were so powerful and I could just tell that they were saying what they knew and believed. My co-counselors were absolutely amazing! We got along so well and just had so much fun! They were also so spiritual and really had an effect on these kids.

Some of the highlights of the week were...some of our boys participated in the variety show and musical program, we won the cheer off for the 14-15 year old group!!! We were so stoked!!! We ate lunch together, played games, the testimony meeting was awesome, we bonded, cheered, danced, and two of the boys wrote a song to say good-bye to the girls. They were adorable! Our group just bonded and no one wanted to leave. I loved every minute of it! We didn't really have any problems and we just had a really outgoing and fun group of kids. We had some boys who didn't want to be there and by the end of the week they were baring their testimonies and planning to go on missions and telling each other they loved one another. I could not believe what had happened that week! I hope and pray that they will remember what they felt last week and be able to get through the next couple of years in high school. If they have faith and trust in the Lord, they will continue to be the strong children of God that they are.

EFY! Differeth from Another

So I had the opportunity to be an EFY counselor last week at BYU and let me tell you, it was amazing! I get to do it next week too and I am super excited! I had 12, 14-15 year old girls and then we had a group of 41 with 4 counselors. Our company name was "Differeth from Another." At first my kids were a little shy, but they opened up by the end of the week. I just tried to get them pumped for all the activities and be spiritual as well. :-) Some of the activities we did were dances, service projects, classes, a variety show, musical program, devotionals, pizza night, games night, etc. We even got to watch the fireworks from Brigham Square that were shot off at the stadium of fire. This was the largest session of the summer with 1301 kids and 138 counselors. Crazy! But it was a blast!

I got to stay in Helaman Halls which was a little blast from the past since I lived there 3 years ago and ate at the Cannon Center. Good times! Overall I learned this week how much our Lord and Heavenly Father love us individually. We are of divinity and need to remember how much we are loved and never left alone. I had forgotten that for a while, but the strength that my kids had in their trials helped strengthen me and helped me realize that there is a plan for me. I know I am of worth and I have not been forgotten. I felt my testimony strengthened this week and I hope it will continue to as I do more EFY sessions and continue to live the principles of the gospel.
